The best equipped grocery shop in the spot area – Carrefour.

Located in the village of Birgi, Carrefour (formerly Maxi Like) is the most popular among kitesurfers and the closest well-stocked grocery shop in the Lo Stagnone area. You will find there a basic selection of groceries, vegetables, fruit or cleaning products. Vis a vis this supermarket there is also a very well-stocked vegetable stand and a panini and coffee bar. This shop can be compared to usual Carrefour Express shops found anywhere in Europe.
In the shop you can pay by card.
This shop also has a siesta and it is closed from 13:45 – 16:25!


Sisa Supermarketthe largest selection of local and Italian produce in the area.

Sisa is a 15-minute drive from Birgi. It is a very well-equipped supermarket with a large selection of fresh meats, cheeses, seafood, fish and spirits. If you have the ability to drive to Sisa and are looking for a place to do some major shopping this will undoubtedly be the best choice.

Supermarket Deco – large selection and lower prices than at Sisa

Deco, an additional five-minute drive more from Birgi than Sisa also offers a wide range of food, but a slightly more narrowed variety. You will find more brands produced typically under their own Deco brand, but the products are nevertheless of good quality and at more favourable prices. You’ll also find fresh fish, cheese and meat stalls in the shop, but slightly smaller than in Sisa.

Tabacchi – tobacco shops and vending machines.

In Italy tobacco is sold in separate, dedicated shops. You can also find newspapers, sim cards or cold drinks there. Tobacco vending machines are located in front of tabacchi shops allowing you to buy tobacco products outside shop opening hours.
In order to be able to purchase from vending machines you must ask the clerk at the shop where the machine is located to scan your fingerprint. Using the fingerprint scanner you will be able to unlock the machine and make purchases when the staff shop is closed. At the vending machines you can only pay in cash.

Vietnamese supermarket Yes Store

There is a rumour going around that if something isn’t available in this shop it means that the item doesn’t exist. At the Yes Store, you will find absolutely everything from kitchen accessories to paints, clothing, electronics, bicycle parts, car accessories or jewellery. Even though the product quality can be questionable, you can find yourself coming back here more often than you’d think. If you are looking for something that is hard to get in other shops you will undoubtedly find it in the Yes Store.
